To date, there are no targeted effective therapeutic agents for novel coronavirus pneumonia. Infected individuals are usually given antiviral therapy with alpha-interferon nebulized inhalation, or oral lopinavir or ritonavir and, if necessary, a combination of antibacterial drugs. The disease belongs to the category of epidemics in Chinese medicine, and can also be treated with Chinese herbal medicine for evidence-based treatment. For novel coronavirus pneumonia, effective therapeutic drugs are in clinical research, and three drugs have been initially screened that can effectively inhibit the virus at the cellular level, but further clinical trials are needed.
