Generally, pregnancy can be detected by blood HCG test at around 10 days after ovulation, and pregnancy can be detected by early pregnancy test at around 14 days.
In women with regular menstrual cycles, fertilization usually occurs within 24 hours after ovulation, and the fertilized egg will enter the uterine cavity and implant in the uterus 6-7 days after fertilization, and HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) can be detected in the mother’s serum 1 day after the implantation to determine pregnancy.
Therefore, the earliest time to detect pregnancy is about 10 days after ovulation.
HCG in the urine appears relatively later, usually about 14 days after ovulation to determine pregnancy by morning sickness test.
However, after the pregnancy is confirmed by laboratory tests, ultrasound should be performed at about 40 days after menopause to confirm a normal pregnancy and to exclude pathological pregnancies such as ectopic pregnancies.
