What does gonorrhea mean?

Gonorrhea is actually clinically referred to as gonorrhea, caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae infection, mainly manifested as a purulent infection of the genitourinary system, but also clinically present in the eyes, pharynx, rectal infection, and in some patients, disseminated gonococcal infection. The incubation period of gonorrhea is relatively short, usually 2-10 days, with an average of about 3-5 days, but gonorrhea is more contagious, and patients in the incubation period are infectious. Gonorrhea can lead to many complications and sequelae, especially for men and women of childbearing age, and once infected with gonorrhea it is likely to lead to infertility, and newborns and women during pregnancy may also be exposed to gonorrhea transmission.
