Surgical treatment of myopia, including laser surgery or intraocular refractive surgery, is not yet covered by normal health insurance. This type of surgery is a routine procedure in ophthalmology and is used for the treatment of refractive errors in adults, including myopia and astigmatism. There are two types of surgeries depending on the type of surgery: the first is corneal refractive surgery, including excimer laser surgery and femtosecond laser surgery, which can be used to correct myopia up to 1,500 degrees. The second type is intraocular refractive surgery, including IOL implantation in crystalline eyes and lens replacement, which is used for myopia correction up to 2000 degrees, and lens replacement can also be used for the treatment of highly myopic patients with cataracts at the same time.
