What to do if a turtle scratches

After being scratched by a turtle, the wound should be cleaned promptly and the patient should choose whether to receive rabies vaccine or tetanus vaccine according to his/her needs.
If the patient is scratched by the tortoise and there is bleeding from the wound, the wound should be cleaned with running water in time, and the residual blood should be squeezed from the proximal to the distal end. After the blood is cleaned up, the wound needs to be cleaned with iodine povidone and the injured area needs to be secured. Generally tortoises do not exist without carrying rabies virus and usually do not require rabies vaccination. However, if the patient has a need for rabies vaccination, he or she can ask for medical advice.
If the scratching wound is narrow and deep, the patient will also need to get a tetanus shot, thus preventing tetanus. During the recovery period, the hands need to be kept clean and tidy to avoid secondary infections.
It is recommended that patients need to go to a regular hospital and seek medical help after their hands are scratched by turtles.
