A blood pressure of 160/100mmHg is not normal and is considered secondary hypertension. The normal range of blood pressure in normal adults is less than 140 mmHg systolic and less than 90 mmHg diastolic, while systolic blood pressure greater than or equal to 140 mmHg, and or diastolic blood pressure greater than or equal to 90 mmHg is defined as hypertension. Systolic blood pressure of 140-159mmHg and diastolic blood pressure of 90-99mmHg are considered as Grade 1 hypertension; systolic blood pressure of 160-179mmHg and diastolic blood pressure of 100-119mmHg are considered as Grade 2 hypertension. A blood pressure of 160/100mmHg is considered secondary hypertension. Grade 2 hypertension, it is recommended to first develop good living and eating habits, low salt, high potassium diet, eat more fresh vegetables and fruits, properly increase physical exercise, control weight, quit smoking and limit alcohol, avoid staying up late, and maintain a good state of mind. At the same time apply antihypertensive drugs, commonly used antihypertensive drugs are metoprolol, bisoprolol, hydrochlorothiazide, enalapril, irbesartan, amlodipine, nifedipine, etc.
