What are the causes of knee effusion

Knee effusion may be normal knee joint effusion for physiological phenomenon, may also be trauma, joint inflammation, metabolic diseases and other pathological factors.
1. Normal physiological phenomenon: under normal circumstances, there is a small amount of fluid in the knee joint, about 4ml or less, which is a normal physiological phenomenon.
2. Trauma: due to knee injury such as fracture, ligament injury, meniscus injury and other lesions, can damage the soft tissues around the knee joint, stimulate the synovial membrane, cause knee joint effusion.
3. Joint inflammation: such as knee synovitis, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, tuberculous arthritis, etc., the lesion stimulation causes inflammatory exudation in the joint cavity, resulting in knee effusion, accompanied by symptoms such as knee joint pain, swelling and activity limitation.
4. Metabolic diseases: such as end-stage renal disease, hypoproteinemia and other diseases, easy to lead to a decrease in plasma protein concentration, colloid osmotic pressure decrease, elevated hydrostatic pressure in the circulation may increase the leakage of fluid in the joint cavity, resulting in hydronephrosis of the knee.
There may be many other causes of knee hydrops, and patients are advised to consult the hospital in time and clarify the causes under the guidance of the doctor for early targeted treatment and therapy.
