Xianhe Cao has the effects of astringency and stopping bleeding (using drugs with astringent effect to treat bleeding conditions), stopping malaria, stopping dysentery, and tonifying deficiency, and is not suitable for use in cases of blood stasis. Xianhe Cao is flat in nature, astringent and bitter in taste, and belongs to the heart and liver meridians. It is commonly used in clinical practice to treat various bleeding disorders, cold and heat malaria, dislocation of strength and labor injuries, prolonged diarrhea and dysentery, and deficiency of qi and blood. However, note that some people may experience facial congestion, palpitations, flushing and other phenomena after taking this drug, which can usually be recovered after stopping the drug. Xianhe Cao does not have the effect of activating blood circulation and removing blood stasis, therefore, it is generally not used to treat blood stasis in clinical application. However, if the patient has both internal stasis of blood and bleeding, the drug can be used in combination with traditional Chinese medicines that activate blood circulation and eliminate blood stasis, such as Panax ginseng, safflower, peach kernel, etc., to activate blood circulation and stop bleeding, as prescribed by the doctor. If there is any discomfort, timely medical treatment should be sought, and the drug should be applied under the guidance of a Chinese medicine practitioner, not blindly use the drug on your own, so as not to cause physical discomfort.
