Yunnan Baiyao is mainly used for bruises, bruises, swelling and pain, all kinds of bleeding (vomiting blood, blood in stool, hemoptysis, etc.), and is not effective in treating varicose veins. Varicose veins are mostly caused by genetic factors (weak vein walls, defective venous valves) and increased pressure in the superficial veins (prolonged standing, heavy physical labor, pregnancy, chronic coughing, etc.). Commonly used treatments can be categorized into non-surgical therapy, sclerotherapy and surgical therapy. 1. Non-surgical treatment: Use medical compression stockings or compression bandages for mild symptoms and avoid prolonged standing and sitting. 2. Sclerotherapy and compression therapy: inject sclerosing agent into the varicose vein to make it occluded, and local compression to avoid leakage of sclerosing agent. 3. Surgical therapy: it can be performed on patients with no clear contraindications to surgery. Usually, high ligation of saphenous vein or small saphenous vein and stripping of trunk and varicose veins are chosen. The farther away from the centrifugal vein the higher the pressure on the vein and the faster the disease progresses. Therefore, if varicose veins are diagnosed, they should be treated as soon as possible to avoid progression of the disease.
