At present, there is no clear data on the cure rate of cholangiocarcinoma, but generally speaking, the cure rate of cholangiocarcinoma is relatively low, and only some patients with early-stage cholangiocarcinoma can be cured so as to get a longer survival time. Cholangiocarcinoma is a kind of malignant tumor originated from the epithelium of bile ducts, and its etiology is still unclear, but it is considered that its occurrence is related to the stones in bile ducts or inflammatory diseases originated from bile ducts. Many early cholangiocarcinomas do not have any symptoms, and most of the patients come to the doctor only after bile duct obstruction occurs, and the tumor is already in the advanced stage at the time of doctor’s consultation, so the cure rate is low. If cholangiocarcinoma can be detected at an early stage, and radical surgery and other treatments are taken, some of the patients can be clinically cured. If bile duct cancer can be detected at an early stage, some patients can achieve clinical cure after radical surgery and other treatments. Due to the high malignancy of bile duct cancer, it is easy to recur and metastasize after surgery, and most of the patients are already in the advanced stage when they are detected, and they cannot be resected by radical surgery, so the overall cure rate of cholangiocarcinoma is relatively low, and the patients’ prognosis is relatively poor.
