Some patients with mild simple thrombocytopenia do not need treatment, while patients with severe thrombocytopenia can be treated by platelet transfusion, medication and surgery.
1. Platelet transfusion: serious life-threatening bleeding caused by thrombocytopenia are all indications for therapeutic platelet transfusion. Platelet count <20×10⁹/L with oral bleeding or other internal bleeding, transfusion of single platelet is an effective therapeutic measure.
2. Drug therapy: rational use of drugs can help the treatment of the primary disease and improve the platelet level, such as recombinant human thrombopoietin to promote platelet production, prednisone, dexamethasone and other immunosuppressive therapy.
3. Surgical treatment: If thrombocytopenia is still serious after conservative treatment, according to the specific condition, surgery to remove the spleen can be chosen.
Simple thrombocytopenia can be left untreated if it is not low, and activities that may cause bleeding should be reduced in daily life. All the drugs mentioned above should be used in accordance with the doctor’s prescription.
