Can you eat durian with gastroenteritis?

When suffering from gastroenteritis, it is recommended not to eat durian until the condition has recovered. Durian is a fruit rich in protein, trace elements and dietary fiber. Since durian is rich in protein, if you consume durian, it may aggravate the burden on the gastrointestinal tract, which may lead to indigestion, manifesting as abdominal pain, bloating, nausea, vomiting, early satiety, belching (hiccups), etc., which may aggravate the symptoms of gastroenteritis and therefore is not recommended to consume it when your condition is in acute stage. When suffering from gastroenteritis, you should eat light, easily digestible food, such as rice porridge and lotus root powder. Eat a light diet and avoid spicy and stimulating foods as well as greasy and indigestible foods. For severe cases, medication should be used under medical supervision.
