Norepinephrine pump is used by dispensing norepinephrine with glucose sodium chloride injection or 5% dextrose injection into 50ml of liquid, which is continuously pumped according to different populations, with different dosages for children and adults.
The usual dosage for adults is 8~12ug/min at the beginning, and the drip rate is slowly adjusted to reach the ideal blood pressure level; the maintenance dosage is guaranteed to be 2~4ug/min, while the usual dosage for children is 0.02~0.1ug/kg/min according to the body weight, and then the drip rate is adjusted according to the need.
It is clinically used for the treatment of hypotension caused by extracorporeal circulation, acute infarction, etc. Extravasation of the drug solution during application may cause necrosis of local tissues. Adverse reactions such as manifestations of ischemia in vital organs, rash, facial edema, headache, palpitations, hypertension, etc. may also occur.
Norepinephrine is contraindicated in patients with cocaine intoxication and tachycardia, as well as in combination with other catecholamines and halogen-containing anesthetics.
The drug belongs to the vasoactive drugs, in clinical application should be used flexibly according to the patient’s condition, if necessary, under the guidance of the pharmacist or superior physician.
