Capsule endoscopy is mainly based on swallowing capsules, recording, and playback observation. Capsule gastroscopy can be performed in hospitals when unexplained gastrointestinal bleeding, suspected iron deficiency anemia, small intestinal tumors, and frequent stomach discomfort, nausea, vomiting, acid reflux, belching, and stomach pain are present. The patient’s gastrointestinal tract needs to be cleaned before the examination, which is basically the same as the preparation for colonoscopy. Patients are required to take the capsule endoscope with water as if they were swallowing a pill. After the capsule endoscope enters the body, it will keep going down with the peristalsis of the gastrointestinal tract, taking a picture at an interval of two seconds each time, and the information of the image taken will be transmitted to the image recorder outside the body at any time. The doctor will observe and analyze the image recorder picture, which can help the patient determine whether there is a disease. After swallowing the capsule for 8-72 hours, the capsule endoscope will be discharged outside the body with the body’s feces.
