Interventional therapy for congenital heart disease, as a newly emerging treatment technology, has the advantages of being minimally invasive, less painful, and shorter recovery time. Its current status directly reflects the development level of cardiovascular medicine and has become, to some extent, one of the key technologies to measure the overall strength of medical units. In the past two decades, interventional therapy has flourished and been widely used in clinical practice, and is popular among clinicians and patients. Interventional treatment of congenital heart disease in children requires a high level of surgical competence and a comprehensive grasp of theories related to electrocardiography, cardiac ultrasound and cardiac catheterization. At present, the types of pediatric congenital heart disease interventions carried out in China include: atrial septal defect occlusion, arteriovenous catheterization occlusion, ventricular septal defect occlusion, congenital anomalous vessel occlusion (coronary artery fistula, non-arterial fistula, body-pulmonary circulation collateral vessels, main-pulmonary artery window, etc.), percutaneous valvuloplasty (aortic valve, pulmonary valve), balloon dilatation for vascular stenosis, vascular stent implantation, percutaneous aortic valve, pulmonary valve replacement, etc. Zhang Kun, Deputy Chief Physician, Cardiovascular Department, Qilu Children’s Hospital, Jinan, Shandong University, has been engaged in basic research and interventional treatment of pediatric congenital cardiovascular diseases for 10 years, specializing in the diagnosis, treatment and research of childhood viral myocarditis, various heart arrhythmias and heart failure, and various congenital heart diseases, especially in the interventional treatment of various congenital cardiovascular diseases, radiofrequency ablation of tachyarrhythmias, color Doppler ultrasound treatment, and the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. He has rich clinical experience and in-depth research in interventional treatment of various congenital cardiovascular diseases, radiofrequency ablation of tachyarrhythmias, and color Doppler echocardiography diagnosis. She has also accumulated rich experience in the diagnosis and treatment of severe viral myocarditis, fulminant myocarditis and various arrhythmias. He is now routinely performing transcatheter interventional occlusion for various types of precordial diseases, such as ventricular septal defect, atrial septal defect, and arteriovenous insufficiency; percutaneous balloon dilatation and angioplasty for stenotic valves, such as pulmonary stenosis, aortic constriction, and aortic stenosis; stent dilatation and angioplasty for stenotic vessels, such as renal artery stenosis and pulmonary artery branch stenosis; transcatheter radiofrequency ablation for tachyarrhythmias, such as paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia, etc. The youngest patient was 4 months old and weighed only 4.5 kg. A child with an atrial septal defect combined with a ventricular septal defect was treated with simultaneous occlusion. Recently, with the support of ventilator, we successfully performed interventional surgery for an 8-month-old child with unclosed ductus arteriosus and heart failure, severe pulmonary hypertension, severe pneumonia and pulmonary atelectasis, which was the first interventional emergency surgery for precardiac disease in Jinan. Now nearly 100 cases of interventional procedures are completed annually, with good treatment results, and the level of interventional treatment has reached the leading level in the province.
