Hepatitis C antibody 0.13 is normal. Hepatitis B antibodies have a normal value of zero to one, and a test result of 0.13, which is within the normal range, is negative, indicating no hepatitis C infection. A test result above the normal range is considered positive and indicates infection with the hepatitis C virus. Hepatitis C antibody test is a specific antibody for hepatitis C infection, which is a sign of hepatitis C infection and is a non-protective antibody. Hepatitis C antibodies are generally used for epidemiologic screening. Whether or not you are infected with Hepatitis C also needs to be determined in combination with a Hepatitis C Virus Ribonucleic Acid (RNA) test. Negative hepatitis C antibody and positive hepatitis C virus ribonucleic acid suggests early acute infection prior to antibody production or chronic hepatitis C infection in immunosuppressed patients, and may also be a false-positive result for RNA, so it is recommended to retest for anti-hepatitis C antibody and RNA in 4 to 6 months.
