Huangjing should not be taken by those who are allergic to Huangjing, those who suffer from middle-cold diarrhea (refers to the symptoms manifested by spleen-yang deficiency and internal coldness), or those who suffer from phlegm-dampness-plankton (stomach distension and discomfort) and qi stagnation.
Huang Jing is a traditional Chinese medicine, which is the dried rhizome of Huang Jing plant, family Liliaceae. This Chinese medicine has the effects of nourishing Yin and moisturizing the lungs, tonifying the spleen and benefiting Qi, and nourishing the kidney and filling up the essence. It has therapeutic effects on weakness of the spleen and stomach, fatigue, low food intake, lung deficiency and dry cough, thirst and other conditions. The adverse reactions and contraindications of this product are not clear at present. It should be noted that it is contraindicated in cold and diarrhea, and it is contraindicated in plumpness and stagnation of qi.
Clinically combined with smallpox pollen and gypsum, it is used to treat thirst (a disease characterized by excessive drinking, eating, urination, emaciation, or urine with a sweet taste); combined with raw astragalus, American ginseng and dendrobium, it is used for deficiency of qi and yin; and combined with Epimedium, Cuscuta, and Shayuanzi, it is used for impotence and spermatorrhea.
Chinese medicines or proprietary Chinese medicines need to be used under the guidance of a Chinese doctor to identify the symptoms, and individuals should not use them blindly to avoid adverse consequences.
