How to tell if you have kidney yang deficiency or low testosterone levels

Kidney-Yang deficiency and low testosterone level are different concepts in two disciplines and should not be confused. To determine whether it is kidney yang deficiency or low testosterone level can be judged by the patient’s general symptoms and clinical laboratory tests. 1. General Symptoms: Kidney-Yang deficiency belongs to one type of Chinese medicine, which can be manifested as soreness and weakness of waist and knees (a feeling of soreness and weakness of waist and knees), coldness of limbs, spontaneous sweating (involuntary sweating during the daytime, and sweating is aggravated with a little movement), puffiness and swelling, whiteness of the face (whitish face with no luster), diarrhea in the five days (diarrhea before dawn), impotence, long and clear urine, nocturnal urination, and decreased libido, etc. Low testosterone levels can be judged by the general symptoms and clinical laboratory tests. Low testosterone level may be manifested as anemia, hypogonadism, memory loss, irritability, and fatigue. 2. Laboratory tests: Kidney-Yang deficiency as a TCM pattern can be judged by symptoms without laboratory tests; testosterone level can be judged by routine blood tests. If necessary, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital for consultation and treatment under the guidance of a professional physician.
