Pain in the arm after blood donation may be caused by several reasons: i. It may be caused by an injury related to the puncture. The puncture needle used for blood donation is often thick, and if the patient’s upper extremity is slender or has thin blood vessels, then the pain in the upper extremity may be caused by the damage caused by the puncture. If the patient does not apply continuous pressure to the puncture site after donating blood, it may cause continuous bleeding, which may lead to some sterile inflammation and thus pain; third, this condition may be caused by infection at the puncture site. If the patient does not protect the puncture site well after donating blood, and if it is contaminated or exposed to water prematurely, then the site may become infected, resulting in pain. This is often seen when the patient’s blood vessels are relatively thin, or when there are difficulties in the process of puncture, repeated puncture, which may cause some inflammation inside the blood vessels, which may lead to pain in the upper limbs.
