How to treat early symptoms of stomach cancer

Early stage of gastric cancer refers to the stage when the cancerous tissue is confined to the gastric mucosa. Generally speaking, surgery is the main treatment method. The appropriate surgical method needs to be selected according to the special situation of early gastric cancer. Currently, there are mainly endoscopic submucosal resection and traditional radical gastric cancer surgery, which is developed to robotic surgery in some places. Gastroscopic submucosal resection is mainly applicable to the case of early gastric cancer with limited tissue distribution. It means that the gastric cancer is confined to a small part of the stomach. And before surgery, a clear diagnosis is needed to confirm the distribution and depth of infiltration of gastric cancer. This is a principle that must be followed, otherwise it is very likely to lead to poor treatment of the disease. Therefore, this treatment method has strict requirements for patient selection. Patients who undergo this treatment require at least annual review of gastroscopy for early detection of recurrence in the stomach, and some imaging tests to detect lymph nodes and organ metastases. Although endoscopic resection is a treatment option for patients with early gastric cancer, radical surgery for gastric cancer is still the most widely chosen treatment option and has the best treatment outcome, with a 5-year survival rate of over 90%. For most patients, it is a reliable treatment. This type of surgery can detect the surrounding lymph node metastasis of gastric cancer and give removal, which can reduce the chance of recurrence. Chemotherapy is generally not recommended after surgery for most early gastric cancers. However, chemotherapy is also needed in conjunction with early gastric cancer for younger age, large gastric cancer area and pathology suggesting high malignancy.
