Clinical manifestations of polycystic ovary syndrome

Disorders are common in gynecology and have a variety of causes. The regulatory mechanism is deranged so that a series of symptoms occur such as hirsutism, obesity, scarcity, amenorrhea, with double. The ovaries are cystically enlarged and shaped like grapes, medically known as polycystic ovary syndrome. The cause of polycystic ovary syndrome is not clear, it is thought that it may be related to endocrine dysfunction, hypothalamus. It is believed that it may be related to endocrine dysfunction, hypothalamus and pituitary imbalance: due to the effects of mental stress, medication and certain diseases, the hypothalamus secretes gonadotropin-releasing hormone out of cycle, resulting in the pituitary gland secreting gonadotropin ratio imbalance, causing the follicles to develop but not mature and not ovulate, becoming cystic follicles. The clinical manifestations of polycystic ovary syndrome have four main features: 1. Chronic non-ovulation: the manifestations are dysregulation, low frequency, low menstrual flow, and even amenorrhea. A few patients come only once in a long time and have a lot of menstrual flow and long periods. 2. Infertility: The cause of infertility may be anovulation caused by hormonal disorders or ovarian insufficiency, or it may be caused by poor quality or progesterone deficiency resulting in poor endometrial growth which is not conducive to fertilized egg implantation and development. 3. Hirsutism: Excessive androgens in the body cause hirsutism, so the distribution of hair has a masculine tendency, such as beard, chest hair, hair from the navel to the pubic area, as well as increased hair in the anus and limbs, and coarse, thick and black pubic hair. Due to racial differences, hirsutism is not as pronounced in Asian women as in European and American patients. Sometimes accompanied by acne, hair loss. 4, obesity: almost 25% of patients will appear obese, obesity and polycystic ovary syndrome relationship is very complex, may be related to the reduction of insulin sensitivity, and androgen down to normal, obesity still exists.
