Chinese herbal formulas for dispelling dampness include Ping Stomach San, Lian Park Drink, and Defeating Toxin San. Ping Gastric San can dry dampness and transport the spleen, regulate qi and stomach (harmonize the stomach and internal organs by promoting the operation of qi), and is used for dampness trapped in the spleen and stomach (dampness stays in the spleen and stomach), distension and fullness of the epigastric region (abdomen), inappetance, blandness of the mouth and tastelessness, vomiting and nausea, belching (hiccups) and acid swallowing (swallowing of acid in the stomach that is upwardly charged to the oropharynx), frequent diarrhea, heaviness of the limbs, inertia, lethargy, and a slow, greasy, white, and thick pulse of the tongue. Lian Pu Drink has the effects of clearing away heat and resolving dampness, regulating qi and zhong (regulating the qi of the spleen and stomach so as to make the functions of the spleen and stomach smooth), and is used in treating dampness-heat embodiment, cholera and vomiting, chest and epigastric constriction, thirst and heartburn, and short and red urination (small amount of urination, deep yellow color), with yellowish greasy tongue coating. Defeating toxin dispersal has the efficacy of dispersing cold and dispelling dampness, benefiting qi and relieving exterior symptoms of wind-cold-dampness. Cold and heat, headache, limb pain, no sweating, nasal congestion, cough with phlegm, chest and diaphragm plumpness (stomach distension and discomfort), pale tongue with white moss, floating pulse and weakness when pressed.
