What type of epileptic nighttime sleep seizures are

Epileptic nighttime sleep seizures are generally classified as sleep-type epilepsy. Spontaneous grand mal seizures and epileptiform discharges have a certain diurnal predisposition. Epilepsy is categorized into awakening epilepsy (seizures mainly during the day), sleep-type epilepsy (seizures mainly at night), and diffuse epilepsy (no obvious fixed time, also called irregular epilepsy as seizures) according to the different seizure times of the patients. Patients with sleep-type epilepsy often have nighttime seizures, such as sudden convulsions and mild generalized spasms in their sleep, and a few patients may exhibit aggressive behavior. The neurons that discharge abnormally in sleep-type epilepsy are generally hypersensitive to excitability during sleep, and epileptic activity is generalized during this period, with epileptiform discharges more pronounced than at other times. Patients are advised to actively cooperate with their doctors in order to control their symptoms.
