How long does it take to recover from a broken tendon

How long it takes to recover from a tendon (tendon) rupture cannot be generalized and is mostly related to the specific site of the tendon rupture. In general, tendon ruptures require surgical repair to re-establish the continuity of the tendon. After surgery, a cast or brace will be applied, and the braking and recovery time will vary slightly for different areas of the tendon rupture. Typically, finger tendons require joint braking for 3-4 weeks after rupture, while quadriceps and Achilles tendons require immobilization for 6-8 weeks. The tendon should also be kept away from adhesions during the braking period, and once the immobilization device is removed, active functional exercises can be performed, but no strenuous activities or weight bearing should be performed. If problems occur during this process, the recovery of the tendon may be affected, thus prolonging the recovery time. However, for most patients, full recovery is usually possible about 3-6 months after surgery. In addition, good habits of life, diet and rest, proper nutritional support, avoiding late nights and maintaining a good and optimistic attitude can also help to promote recovery.
