What is the best treatment for tendonitis?

Tendonitis is mainly treated conservatively, with anti-inflammatory medication and, if necessary, surgery. Conservative treatment is currently the mainstay of treatment and includes rest, cold and hot packs and elevation of the affected limb. Medication includes oral non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as aspirin and indomethacin, as well as local injections of hormones. Treatment needs to be carried out under the supervision of a medical professional.
