How long it takes to develop HIV infection is variable, usually around 6-8 years. Some people may have a shorter onset, around one year, and some will have a relatively longer period, even up to more than ten years. The length of the onset time is generally related to the amount of HIV infection. Infection with HIV passes through three main stages, namely the acute infection stage, the asymptomatic stage and the AIDS stage. The acute infection period is the period of 2-4 weeks after the infection of HIV, after the acute infection period is the asymptomatic period, during which the patient does not have any uncomfortable symptoms, and then enters the AIDS period, that is, the onset of the disease.
