After a rupture of the Achilles tendon, even if the tendon heals as expected after systematic treatment, the tendon will not fully recover as before. This is because once a rupture occurs in the Achilles tendon, the function of the tendon decreases both physiologically and psychologically. Physiologically, the tendon’s resistance to injury gradually decreases, resulting in a gradual decrease in maximum jumping power and explosive power. Psychologically, people with Achilles tendon rupture face foot activities with an inappropriate mentality, especially when they unconsciously self-protect themselves during force generation. Therefore, there is no way to fully recover from an Achilles tendon rupture as before.
