Can sciatic nerve compression heal on its own?

In most cases, patients who develop sciatic nerve compression will not be able to heal themselves.
In some cases, compression of the sciatic nerve may occur as a result of herniated lumbar discs, lumbar spinal stenosis, spasticity of the pudendal muscles, or sciatic nerve related injuries, among other causes.
In most cases, these causes do not resolve on their own and require prompt medical intervention. For example, in the case of a herniated lumbar disc, surgery to remove the nucleus pulposus and relieve the compression of the sciatic nerve is required in order to completely relieve the patient’s symptoms. Therefore, in most cases, the patient will not be able to recover on his/her own.
Only in rare cases, such as the patient in the sciatic nerve path of the existence of cold conditions, causing sciatic nerve edema. This can be relieved by resting, applying heat and so on.
It is therefore recommended that patients with sciatic nerve related lesions should not take any chances. After the onset of the disease, they should go to the orthopedic department as soon as possible to receive standardized treatment, rather than because of the delay in consultation, resulting in the aggravation of the condition.
