Hypertonia is a pathological condition in which there is increased tension in the muscles at rest, causing stiffness in the patient’s limbs leading to impaired mobility. A variety of diseases can cause hypertonia, such as cerebrovascular disease, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, motor neuron disease, and so on. All of the above diseases can cause irreversible damage to neuronal cells or conduction bundles, which cannot be easily intervened by drugs, rehabilitation and physiotherapy techniques and surgical treatments, so usually the occurrence of hypertonia is not easy to treat. It is recommended that patients should consult neurology and related departments as soon as possible to make a clear diagnosis through relevant auxiliary examinations and receive treatment as soon as possible in order to avoid delaying the condition.
