In big cities such as Shanghai and Beijing, especially in comprehensive liver and gallbladder centers, the cost usually ranges from 1-1.5 million RMB because cirrhosis transplantation involves the acquisition of liver source as well as the patient’s pre-operative preparation, intra-operative, post-operative and other treatments, as well as long-term anti-rejection treatments, and therefore, the cost is relatively high. In contrast, in central or western cities such as Anhui, the cost of liver transplantation ranges from about 500,000-700,000 yuan. Patients have to choose different levels of hospitals according to their actual situation, evaluate and choose the suitable treatment for themselves.
