Poria cocos is used for removing dampness, facilitating joints and detoxifying, and is used for treating gonorrhea (cloudy urine and leukorrhea), yangmei poisonous sores, eczema and itching. Poria cocos is the dried tuber of the plant Sarsaparilla glabra, flat in nature, sweet and light in flavor, attributed to the liver and stomach meridians. It has the efficacy of facilitating joints, detoxifying and removing dampness. It is used for the treatment of carbuncle, sores and poisoning, gonorrhea (dripping and astringent urine, cloudy urine) with hypogonadism, eczema, itching, scrofula (mainly refers to the neck lymph nodes tuberculosis), musculoskeletal pain, syphilis, and contracture of limbs caused by mercury poisoning. Adverse reactions and contraindications of Tu Fu Ling are not clear, note that people with deficiency of liver and kidney yin should be cautious.
