Classification of swallowing function

Swallowing function is divided into the following levels: The first level is the most severe level, where the patient cannot even swallow saliva. The second level is the misopharyngeal swallowing of food, and the patient cannot drink water either, and water cannot be drunk. The third level is water misopharyngeal, which occurs when the patient drinks water, but is difficult to control by applying misopharyngeal control methods under the guidance of a doctor, but changing the nature of the food has some effect. The fourth level is opportunity misophagia, which occurs when the patient eats in a normal way. If the patient changes the eating posture or the amount of food imported and eats less, misophagia can be reduced. The fifth level is oral problem, the patient has moderate or severe oral disorder when swallowing, change the chewing method, slow down the speed of eating, the patient may swallow will go down, and there is no mis-swallowing, then need someone to feed or someone to supervise the eating. The sixth level is also the patient’s oral problems, eating with mild mis-swallowing, changing the shape of food will not be easy to produce mis-swallowing. The seventh level is when the patient eats without any difficulty, very smooth and fluent.
