How long can you live with high-grade invasive bladder cancer?

The survival time of bladder cancer patients cannot be generalized, the specific survival time is related to the size of the tumor, recurrence time, number of tumors, etc. Some studies say that its 5-year survival rate is about 66.7%. Bladder cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in the urinary system. If the tumor invades the muscle layer of the bladder, it is called muscle invasive bladder cancer (MIBC); according to the pathology, it is classified into high-grade and low-grade, among which high-grade has a relatively poor prognosis. The 5-year survival rate is commonly used to assess the survival period of tumor patients. For bladder cancer, its pathological grade and stage are the most important factors affecting its survival time. According to some studies, the 1-year, 2-year and 5-year recurrence-free survival rates of patients with high-grade invasive bladder cancer are 83.2%, 81.8% and 70.9%, respectively; the 1-year, 2-year and 5-year tumor-specific survival rates are 89.2%, 79.5% and 68.5%, respectively; and the 1-year, 2-year and 5-year overall survival rates are 88.2%, 77.4% and 66.7%, respectively. If bladder tumor is suspected or diagnosed, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital for comprehensive evaluation of the condition, follow the doctor’s instructions and choose the appropriate treatment plan to avoid delaying the condition.
