Transcranial Doppler indicates fast cerebral blood flow in patients with cerebral stenosis, cerebral vasospasm, and hyperthyroidism.
1. Cerebral stenosis: Patients with cerebral atherosclerosis will have cerebral stenosis, and when the blood flow passes through the stenosis, the speed of flow will increase, and then the transcranial Doppler will indicate that the cerebral blood flow speed is fast.
2. Cerebral vascular spasm: patients with migraine may have cerebral vascular spasm, and cerebral vascular spasm will lead to stenosis, and then transcranial Doppler will suggest that the cerebral blood flow rate is fast; in addition, fatigue, nervousness, and other emotions can lead to cerebral vascular spasm, which will lead to the increase in the speed of blood flow.
3. Hyperthyroidism: Due to the increased excitability of the circulatory system, patients with hyperthyroidism may have faster heart rate and stronger cardiac contraction, which may also result in faster cerebral blood flow.
In addition to the diseases listed above, other diseases may also cause fast cerebral blood flow. If fast cerebral blood flow is detected by transcranial Doppler ultrasound, please follow the doctor’s instructions to complete the relevant examinations to further clarify the cause of the disease and treatment.
