Cranial defects are a common neurosurgical condition, mainly due to the postoperative sequelae of external emergencies and intracranial lesions. For many patients, cranial defects are unfortunate because without the protection of an important barrier on the surface of the brain, human health and safety are always at risk in various aspects. Therefore, it is important to perform cranioplasty as early as possible. Cranioplasty is a routine neurosurgical procedure that has been developed over many years and is quite mature. However, there are still many patients who suffer from post-operative problems such as rejection infection, abrasion of the skin, and post-operative unsightliness, mainly because of the different types of surgery chosen. For example, the titanium mesh cranial repair currently used in the clinic may have disadvantages such as rejection infection, material exposure, and interference with the impact examination, so patients still need to choose a more advanced and safer repair procedure when they undergo repair. Currently, we have introduced the new PEEK cranial bone repair for patients to perform cranial bone repair, which has achieved good results and has been recognized and praised by patients and their families. It is reported that peek cranial repair is a relatively advanced surgery. This surgery uses peek as the cranial repair implant material, unique embedded repair method, material thickness, aperture and groove to make unique design, high comfort, low postoperative rejection infection rate, and does not affect postoperative MRI and CT examination. At the same time, in order to improve the aesthetic appearance, the surgical design introduces the concept of plastic surgery and further refines the added plastic elements, such as subcutaneous freeing, flap transfer, myofascial flap with tip transfer, brow arch shaping, etc., to ensure the symmetry of both sides of the head after surgery and the natural appearance.
