How to detect the new coronavirus

There are more types of coronaviruses, and each different virus is tested differently, taking the novel coronavirus as an example. Testing for novel coronaviruses is currently available at designated regular large hospitals throughout China. People who have a clear history of epidemiological exposure, or a history of activity in an infected area, and have various symptoms of suspected novel coronavirus infection, such as fever, dry cough, malaise, nasal congestion, runny nose, diarrhea, and difficulty breathing, can visit the fever clinic of a designated hospital. After the doctor has inquired about the medical history and symptoms, he or she will first arrange for a CT (or X-ray) of the lungs and routine blood tests. If the results are consistent with the manifestations of novel coronavirus pneumonia, further pathogenic testing will be arranged for the suspected infected person, and a positive result will confirm the diagnosis.
