Cancers with a cure rate of 80% or more mostly refer to early stage cancers, less malignant and slow progressing cancers, such as differentiated thyroid cancer, as well as early stage breast cancer, rectal cancer, and so on.
The cure rate of cancer is mostly expressed by 5-year survival rate and 10-year survival rate, and the cure rate is different for different stages. Generally, the probability of recurrence after five years is very low and can be regarded as clinical cure.
According to the statistics of domestic research, the 5-year and 10-year survival rates of differentiated thyroid cancer are 93.6% and 87.5% respectively, with better prognosis. Most patients with differentiated thyroid cancer have a good prognosis, especially papillary cancer, which is low malignant and slow-growing, and generally does not affect the natural life span after treatment. There are also early breast and rectal cancers with five-year survival rates of 90% to 95%, exceeding the 80% cure rate.
Early detection, diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients is the key to improving the cure rate.
