The feeling of a foreign body blocking the throat may be related to diseases such as epiglottis cysts, acute epiglottitis and reflux pharyngitis.
1. Epiglottis cysts: After the mucous gland ducts in the larynx are blocked, the secretions in the gland sacs are not discharged smoothly to form retention cysts, which often occur in the tongue surface of the epiglottis and the epiglottis valley. With the gradual increase of cysts, when the pressure on the epiglottis squeezes the laryngeal cavity, the above symptoms can appear.
2. Acute epiglottitis: under the influence of infection, allergy, trauma and upper respiratory tract diseases, the epiglottis may become congested and swollen, blocking the vocal folds and triggering the above symptoms.
3. Reflux pharyngolaryngitis: when the stomach contents reflux to the pharynx and even the trachea, it can cause corrosion and damage to the mucous membrane, followed by edema and increased secretion, resulting in hoarseness, fatigue of articulation, frequent clearing of the throat, dry mouth, foreign body sensation in the throat, and discomfort in swallowing. There may also be pain in the throat, chronic or recurrent cough, dyspnea, etc., i.e., the feeling of being unable to breathe.
When there is a sense of foreign body blockage in the throat feeling breathless, need to actively seek medical treatment, systematic examination to clarify the diagnosis.
