Helicobacter pylori series – Understanding H. pylori

“Helicobacter pylori has become a hot topic in gastroenterology and the medical community as a whole, and the reason for this ending is related to its strong pathogenicity. As a pathogenic bacteria, of course, is to get rid of it. As a soldier says, know your enemy and know yourself, to break it, we need to understand it. Helicobacter pylori is a kind of bacteria that enters the stomach through the mouth and is usually difficult to eradicate spontaneously once it is infected. The average rate of infection in China is currently as high as about 59%, and its transmission route is still unclear, mostly considered through the mouth oral transmission, fecal oral transmission, intimate contact is the main culprit of family aggregation of infection. Its infection may not necessarily have typical clinical symptoms, and some patients may have digestive manifestations, such as bad breath and a feeling of fullness after meals. The prognosis of H. pylori infection is fair, and with regular use of quadruple therapy, its eradication rate can reach 90%, but I still want to inform my patients that there is a risk of reinfection after eradication. I would like to inform all patients that even if they are infected with H. pylori, they do not need to be too nervous and we recommend that you go to the hospital for further examination and do not use medication without authorization.
