Surgery is not necessary after targeted therapy for breast cancer. Breast cancer is a relatively common malignant tumor disease, and targeted therapy is a common treatment means to cope with breast cancer. Clinical treatment of breast cancer with targeted therapy includes postoperative adjuvant targeted therapy and preoperative neoadjuvant targeted therapy; in addition, HER2-positive patients with advanced breast cancer can also take targeted therapy as the first-line treatment plan. In case of preoperative targeted therapy, the main purpose is to reduce the tumor volume and lower the risk of surgery, so surgery is still needed after treatment; in case of advanced patients who are not suitable for surgery, targeted therapy can be used to delay the disease progression, and at this time, no surgery is needed. In a word, every breast cancer patient’s condition is different, and there will be significant difference in the treatment plan used, so there is no such thing as surgery after targeted therapy. Patients are advised to actively cooperate with doctors to treat the disease without delay.
