Headache for a week is mostly considered to be caused by tension headache, or it may be caused by organic lesions, such as intracranial tumors and central nervous system infections. If the headache is tension headache, the main treatment is to give psychological counseling treatment and drug treatment. Psychotherapy is suitable for pregnant women, breastfeeding and pediatric patients. Pharmacological treatment mainly includes oral paracetamol, ibuprofen, indomethacin, and also oral aspirin. If organic lesions are considered, such as patients with intracranial tumors, they can present with increased intracranial pressure and headache, and intracranial pressure can be increased by applying cranial pressure-lowering therapy, as well as etiological treatment. The etiologic treatment of cranial tumors mainly includes surgical treatment and radiation therapy. If a central nervous system infection, such as viral encephalitis, is considered, antiviral treatment is given, and cranial pressure lowering treatment is also given when the intracranial pressure is increased. In case of meningitis, antibacterial treatment is mainly given, and the patient’s cranial blood pressure is also controlled.
