Prevention and treatment of ureteral cancer

The ureter is a key organ in the human urinary system that carries urine. It is connected to the renal pelvis and the bladder, and is a pair of slender tubes, flat and cylindrical in shape, with an average diameter of 0.5 to 0.7 cm. Ureteral cancer is the most common malignant tumor in the urinary system. Ureteral cancer originates from the ureteral epithelium of the ureter and is collectively known as upper urinary tract uroepithelial cancer with renal pelvis cancer. Ureteral cancer tends to involve older people more, especially between the ages of 50 and 80. The peak age of its incidence is 60-65 years old. The incidence of ureteral cancer in mainland China and Taiwan is slightly higher in women than in men. Smoking and occupational factors are common risk factors for ureteral cancer, and it is generally believed that smoking increases the risk of ureteral cancer by 2.5-7 times. Among occupational factors, those who are engaged in chemical, petrochemical, and plastic industries and have long-term exposure to coal, asphalt, cocaine, and tar are much more likely to suffer from ureteral tumors. The longest possible occurrence of ureteral cancer is 15 years after the initial exposure. 1.The most common symptom of the disease is hematuria, which may be visual or microscopic hematuria, and may appear as streak-like clots, which is aggravated by activity and exertion, with an incidence of 70%-95%. About 10% of patients may be asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis and are diagnosed with hydronephrosis by ultrasound during physical examination. 2.Diagnostic examination is based on urine routine, and red blood cells can be detected. The standard treatment for ureteral tumor is still surgery. 4. Daily diet is positively correlated with fat intake, but negatively correlated with vitamin a and carotenoids. The incidence of ureteral cancer decreases with the intake of fruits and vegetables, especially with the intake of flowering vegetables such as cabbage, cauliflower, radish, cabbage, rape, shepherd’s purse and fresh fruits such as kiwi, fig, banana and date. Ureteral cancer is mostly caused by heart fire moving heat to the small intestine, or damp heat injecting into the ureter, or kidney deficiency and unfavorable gasification, and stasis becoming toxic. It is beneficial to master some suitable dietary therapy for the prevention and treatment of ureteral cancer. Prevention Regular urine examination and urine decidual cells; regular review of intravenous urography or retrograde pyeloureterography; regular cystoscopy and ureteroscopy, once every 3 months for the first 2 years and once every 6 months thereafter.
