How long do you need to rest for IUD removal

IUD removal generally requires three days of rest, do not engage in heavy physical labor within one week after IUD removal, do not have intercourse or take a tub bath within two weeks, keep the vulva clean, and generally choose to remove the IUD 3-7 days after menstruation. If irregular vaginal bleeding occurs after the IUD is placed, it should be removed at any time. Diagnostic scraping should be performed at the same time as the IUD is removed, and the tissue should be scraped out for pathological examination to exclude endometrial lesions. Before removing the IUD, a pelvic ultrasound is needed to determine the location of the IUD. If it is difficult to remove the IUD, the IUD needs to be removed under ultrasound guidance and, if necessary, under hysteroscopy.
