Six people are diagnosed with cancer every minute According to the annual report of China Oncology, 286 people in China have cancer for every 100,000 residents, which means nearly 3 out of 1,000 people have cancer every year, and a person has a 22% probability of getting cancer in his or her lifetime. There are 6 people suffering from cancer every minute in China, and on average, 3 out of 5 cancer patients die. Cancer has become the biggest killer that threatens human life. Early diagnosis is the key to the cure of cancer. With the progress of medicine, many patients with malignant tumors detected and treated at an early stage can achieve long-term survival or even cure. However, it is not easy to achieve early diagnosis. In addition to regular medical checkups, one must be good at detecting signs that suggest cancer, including abnormal skin signals. When some internal malignant tumors occur, there will be some skin abnormalities even before they occur, and these skin clues can be very helpful to diagnose cancer. Cow belly-like palm – Beware of stomach cancer There is a skin disease called malignant acanthosis nigricans, which manifests as darkened and rough skin and velvety or cow belly-like appearance of the palm. In middle-aged and elderly people with tripe-like palms, there is a high probability of internal tumors, 1/3 of which are stomach cancer and the others are malignant tumors of the lungs, uterus, breast, ovaries and liver. Twenty percent of malignant acanthosis nigricans occur before cancer, and 60% occur simultaneously with cancer. When the above symptoms of acanthosis nigricans appear on the skin, you should promptly go to the hospital for examination. Sudden appearance of a large number of age spots is an ominous sign Age spots are medically called seborrheic keratosis, which is a manifestation of the natural aging process of the skin and has no effect on the body. However, if more seborrheic keratoses suddenly appear in a short period of time, or if the original seborrheic keratoses suddenly become bigger and more, this is a kind of skin disease called Leser-Trelat sign, which is often complicated by malignant tumors of internal organs, among which gastrointestinal and lymphatic tumors account for 1/3 each. Paraneoplastic limb keratosis When keratinized thickening and more scales appear in the otherwise normal palmoplantar area without any cause, it indicates a potential visceral tumor, and this skin disease is called paraneoplastic limb keratosis. This skin disease is called paraneoplastic acanthosis. It should be carefully investigated for tumors of the digestive and respiratory systems. Since 60% of paraneoplastic acanthosis appears before the tumor, this sign is an excellent clue for early detection of cancer. Identify the cause of late onset ichthyosis Ichthyosis is a congenital skin condition that occurs shortly after birth, with dry and rough skin that has a fish scale appearance. If ichthyosis develops in adulthood it is medically called acquired ichthyosis and is seen as a reaction to medications, chronic disease, but may also be a sign of certain malignancies, especially lymphoma. If you have a large increase in fine hair, or a big problem, normal people have more or less fine hair, which is related to genetics. If a middle-aged or elderly person has increased and dense hair on the skin and is not taking any medication, there is a high possibility of malignant tumors in the body, especially in middle-aged and elderly women. When this acquired hypertrichosis occurs, the accompanying tumors are mostly in advanced stages or have metastasized extensively, with lung and colon cancers being the most common. Other paraneoplastic skin diseases The above skin diseases that appear with malignant tumors are called paraneoplastic skin diseases, and also include paraneoplastic aspergillosis, dermatomyositis, Sweet’s disease and other skin diseases. The simultaneous appearance of two or more skin cues is more suggestive of the presence of cancer. Paraneoplastic dermatoses may improve significantly after tumor removal, but may reappear when the tumor recurs.
