The difference between iodine and iodophor

Both iodine and iodophor are commonly used disinfectants in clinical practice, but the differences are mainly in the content and use of the components. The main components are iodine 0.23%, chlorhexidine acetate 0.5% and ethanol 65%, which is light yellow and can be used for preoperative skin disinfection. The common concentration of medical iodine volt is 1%, which can be used for general trauma such as burns, frostbite, cuts, abrasions, contusions and pre-surgical skin disinfection with iodine volt. For disinfection of the surface of objects or skin surfaces, both iodine and iodophor can be used. However, relatively speaking, the iodine content of iodophor is higher than that of iodine, so the disinfection effect is better.
