What are the characteristics of advanced laryngeal cancer

Advanced stage of laryngeal cancer is generally characterized by hoarseness, cough, sputum, dyspnea and enlarged lymph nodes in the neck.
Laryngeal cancer is clinically categorized into different types, such as supraglottic, glottic, subglottic and transglottic cancers, through the boundary of glottis. It has different late stage symptoms in different parts.
In the late stage of vocal fold cancer, most of the symptoms include loss of voice, earache, difficulty in breathing, cough and sputum. In the late stage of supravocal cancer, the symptoms include enlarged lymph nodes in the neck, persistent sore throat, difficulty in breathing or swallowing, cough.
Late stage manifestations of subvocal cancer are irritating cough, dyspnea, hoarseness, and also invasion into soft tissues in front of neck, thyroid gland and other symptoms. Transvocal cancer in late stage mostly takes hoarseness and laryngeal enlargement as main symptoms.
Overall, there is no specificity of the symptoms of advanced stage of laryngeal cancer, when there are symptoms of throat discomfort, one should go to the hospital for consultation immediately.
