Blushing is not necessarily caused by a bad heart. Some patients may experience blushing during hypertensive episodes. There are also patients who may blush when they have anterior heart discomfort, coronary artery disease, or angina attacks; patients who take nitrate drugs may also have adverse reactions, and one of these adverse reactions is facial flushing, and patients with mitral stenosis may also have a blushing condition called mitral valve facies. For example, some patients have thin skin stratum corneum and are prone to facial sensitivity and flushing. Others may be relatively prone to sympathetic excitement and may experience facial flushing when they encounter cold, heat or environmental changes.
