Treatment options for stage 2b cervical cancer

Stage IIB cervical cancer can be treated with surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, etc. Molecular targeted therapy can also be considered. Stage IIB cervical cancer refers to the imaging examination suggesting that the tumor of cervical cancer has invaded the parietal uterus but has not yet invaded to the pelvis. It is usually treated with simultaneous radiotherapy and chemotherapy, which includes extracorporeal irradiation and brachytherapy and the combined application of the two, and the common drugs used in chemotherapy are cisplatin and paclitaxel. If the tumor volume shrinks after chemotherapy and meets the indication of surgery, surgery can be considered, but radiotherapy is still needed after surgery. Molecular targeted therapy can also be considered for stage IIB cervical cancer, and commonly used drugs are Lapatinib and so on. Patients with stage IIB cervical cancer are recommended to go to regular hospitals for active treatment in time in order to prolong survival effectively.
