Da An Pill is formulated with Semixia, Hawthorn, Poria, Atractylodes Macrocephala, Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae, Ledebouriella, Stir-fried Shenquan, and Forsythia.
The original formula of Da An Wan is from Dan Xi Xin Fa. The efficacy of this product is to eliminate food and strengthen the spleen. It is mainly used in cases of food accumulation (food indigestion and accumulation in the stomach) and spleen deficiency. Symptoms include indigestion of food, fullness in the epigastrium (abdomen), loss of appetite, lethargy, loose stools, and food accumulation in children.
In this formula, Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae replenishes the spleen and strengthens the qi; Hawthorn and Shenqu strengthen the stomach and eliminate food; Radix Lepidopteris eliminates food and lowers qi; Semixia and Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae move qi and eliminate stagnation, harmonize the stomach and stop vomiting; Poria strengthens the spleen and induces dampness, harmonizes the middle and stops diarrhea; and Lianjiao clears the heat generated by food accumulation. The combination of all the drugs together, the total elimination of food to strengthen the effectiveness of the spleen.
