What’s wrong with walking with thumping ears?

Thumping of the ears when walking may be related to cerumen in the external auditory canal, foreign bodies in the external auditory canal or inflammatory diseases in the middle ear cavity.
1. Cerumen in the external auditory canal: the skin of the external auditory canal has ceruminous glands, which will secrete a small amount of cerumen. If the cerumen is loosened and dislodged on the surface of the eardrum, the thumping of the ears may occur when walking.
2. Foreign bodies in the external auditory canal: especially some small foreign bodies in the external auditory canal, such as hair strands falling on the surface of the eardrum, repeatedly rubbing the tympanic membrane, then the ears may thump and ring when walking.
3. Inflammatory diseases of the middle ear cavity: for example, secretory otitis media or acute suppurative otitis media, due to the accumulation of fluid in the cavity of the tympanic chamber or inflammation stimulating the tympanic membrane, there may be abnormal sound.
Therefore, if you walk with thumping ears, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time to improve the otoscopy related examination, to clarify the cause of targeted treatment.
